ERROR MSGIf they are able to use their hands and are wanting to type out their messages, as you mentioned, there are a few keyboarding communication aids available. Two that come to my mind off the bat is the 1.) Link by Assistive Technology, INC and the (2)Lightwriter by ZYGO. Both have rate enhancement techniques (i.e. abbreviation expansion, instant phrases).
