About thegallery...

The Sims Gallery, owned and operated by Houstonian and art collector Mr. Grant Sims, is one of the only galleries in the South and Southwest specializing in European art of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  The gallery maintains a diverse inventory of still lifes, landscapes, animal paintings, interiors, genre scenes, and portraits by Belgian, French, and Dutch artists.

ERROR MSG          The gallery's overseas expert, Mr. Alan Vaughn, a graduate of the Slade School in London, works exclusively for The Sims Gallery, visiting private sales and estate auctions throughout Europe.  This permits us to regularly supplement our inventory with unique artwork new to the market and not normally seen in the United States.  We also work on projects designed to meet specific needs or requests made by our clients, such as locating works by particular artists or placing collections and individual pieces for sale in galleries and auctions worldwide.

We are able to offer fine paintings at good, not yet inflated prices because we buy at small sales and seek out paintings that have never before been on the market.  This is particularly beneficial to individuals and corporations who want to achieve a certain "Old World" look.  This look, which includes Belgian, French, Dutch and Scandinavian paintings from 1850-1940, has more than just a costly appearance: it has an underlying value supported by a worldwide network of investors and auctions.  Our clients benefit because this investment grade of art appeals to a broad, worldwide market and is easily sold back into the market in the United States, London, and Paris.
