ERROR MSG           A painter in oil and watercolor, Rickards painted portraits, still life, and landscapes.  He attended the Hornsey School of Art where he studied with Peter Greenham and Bernard Dunstan. 

          During his career he was respected as an accomplished artist working in an impressionistic style.  He was a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the United Society of Artists, and the London Sketch Club.  ERROR MSGHe was also president of the Barnet Guild of Artists, and in 1990 Rickards won the Cornelisson prize for outstanding work.
