| YES. The name itself indicates a optimistic approach to all things. The fact that they are still creating and playing stunning compositions 33 years after their first album was released, reveals a truly positive outlook on life, spirit and thought. YES defines progressive rock - through progressive thought. The intricacies involved in YES music exceeds most other music being made then and now. I've been known to state (quite proudly), "If Mozart were alive today, he'd be in YES." ERROR MSGThis is my tribute to the band who changed the way I listen, live, love and learn. The band who can still send me back to my teen years with a few opening bars of one song or another (Close To The Edge, Wondrous Stories, To Be Over), the band that STILL makes music that makes my spirit soar (In The Presence Of). This is the band that, for me, defines music. ERROR MSGI won't bore you with the details of my introduction to YES, but I've been listening to them since I first heard RoundaboutERROR MSG on AM radio (cut to 3:00, of course). I've seen them starting with the Going For The One tour at Madison Square Garden in 1977. I've tried to see them as often as possible, but only for the last half-dozen years have I kept a vigilant watch for tour dates in the Boston area. I recently read a review of the recent tour (Magnification, which was stellar) where a reviewer states, "Jon's voice is as close to pure spiritual light as you can get." 33 years rocking and his voice is as strong and beautiful as ever. This year, Jon said to the audience that they take a bus, not a plane across America, to see the country. How very appropriately YES. This web site offers... |
