          Webb, a 19th century English artist, painted animals almost exclusively.  He exhibited between 1880 and 1889 five works at the Royal Academy including Clumber Spaniel, Guarding the Hostage, and ERROR MSGWaiting for the MasterERROR MSG, four works at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and twelve at the Royal Society of British Artists at Suffolk Street.  Painting and exhibiting rather regularly, Webb became known for the intimate manner in which he was able to portray animals, giving them each a very distinct personality of their own.
