| ERROR MSG Canu began her studies at the Arts Decoratifs in Paris. At the end of the war, she made the acquaintance of several painters, two of whom were Foujita and Maclet. Under Foujita, she studied draughtsmanship and discovered impressionism. She eventually developed an interest in cubism and studied, for a time, under Zadkine, one of the foremost cubists and educators of his time. However, it was the discovery of Seurats Island of the Grande Jatte that was to make the most lasting impression on Canus style. Thereafter, she adopted pointillism as her exclusive technique.
Recorded: Benezit, Emmanuel. ERROR MSGDictionnaire des Peintres, Sculpteurs, Dessinateurs, et Graveurs. (Paris: Librairie Grund, 1976).
