Andre Perrachon was born in Lyon in 1827, and generally painted genre scenes, flowers, and still lifes.  He studied under the renowned rose specialist Chabal-Dussurgey, as well as under Lepage and at the School of Fine Art in Lyon.  Perrachon made his debut in the Paris Salon in 1850, after arriving in 1847.  There he received an honorable mention in 1859 and in 1863.  He exhibited regularly in both Paris and Lyon, and is best known for his florals and still lifes, several of which are in museums throughout Europe.  Perrachon was a most popular art teacher and rose painter in his time.
